Chinese Drywall Lawsuit Settled in Florida

The Miami Herald reports that a Chinese drywall supplier in Miami has agreed to a $54.5 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit over tainted homes in Florida.  The drywall, imported after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, was found to “corrode pipes and electrical wiring, emit foul odors and allegedly caused headaches and breathing problems.”  The settlement will cover roughly 2,000 to 3,000 homes.  Toluse Olorunnipa, Miami Herald 06/15/2011
